Kayaking the CT During COVID-19 This blog is intended to share my CT kayaking adventures in chronological order. Considering our current world health situation, I am going to make an exception to my own rule.
What makes kayaking the CT fun is the different challenges it presents; Open water vs. intracoastal, tides, currents, weather/frontal systems...planning, water, food, primitive camping or a modest motel with a hot shower & bed. If that isn't enough, lets add a new ingredient to the existing recipe: COVID-19.

Six degrees of separation is the idea that all people are six, or fewer, social connections away from each other. As a result, a chain of "a friend of a friend" statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps.
Quickly going back to the CT Reunion and the awesome people I met there...... April 19, 2020 marks one year since I've attended my first CT Reunion. It was Easter weekend and the kayak bunny surprised us with baskets outside our tents. I told you these kayakers were the coolest! I have lived & learned more in the last year than I have in my lifetime...or at least it feels like it.
After returning home from the CT Reunion: I can't continue this blog post without explaining a kayakers obsession with buying kayaks. It puzzles many, so I will do my best to help you understand.
During the past two years, I managed buy & sell a few kayaks. At one time I had five.' My husband thought I was obsessed every time I came home with a Humane Society expression "Look what I found!" and assuring him it was a good deal. But as I hung out with other kayakers, I soon learned that I was not the only one doing this. Kayakers typically own three or more kayaks. To justify my 'obsession' I explained it like this, to my husband who is an avid golfer..."You need a different club for different situations on the golf course, right?" The same hold true when kayaking. You need a driver for long-distances. A putter for the short game. A seven iron for in-between. And finally that favorite club you pull out when you just want to have fun with your friends! Kapeesh? For the record...I currently own four :) INTRODUCTION: This blog came to fruition due to several reasons. (1) I needed a central place to share my exciting kayak adventures with my family and friends. Currently, half are on Facebook, the other half I communicate via email and because of that, sometimes I forget to include someone, and (2) I'm embarking on a journey; geographically, physically, mentally & spiritually. I am driven to document and or bore people with its details. It's also my sincere hope that you will travel, learn, laugh with me...and it will feed your soul, as other bloggers have fed mine.
